Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of popular social media platform X, Elon Musk, recently announced that new users would now pay some fee to post on the platform. Musk revealed this update on Monday in response to a post discussing X’s approach to handling bots on the platform.

He emphasised that implementing a small fee for new users to post content is the most effective solution to combat the persistent issue of bot activity.

Musk said the measure addresses the relentless onslaught of bots plaguing the platform. By introducing a nominal fee for new user write access, X hopes to deter automated accounts and ensure a more authentic and engaging experience for all users.

Musk’s statement underscores the platform’s commitment to fostering genuine user interactions.
