The senator of Cross River North, Jarigbe Jarigbe, has said that some “senior senators” got N500 million each from the 2024 budget.

Jarigbe revealed this at the Senate house Tuesday during the debate of the motion on breach of privilege against Senator Abdul Ningi, who alleged that N3.7 trillion was padded into the 2024 budget.

He said, “We are going forth and back on these issues and coming up with issues of the budget and individual issues concerning what came to our constituencies.

“If we want to go into these issues, all of us are culpable. Some senators here, so called senior senators, got five hundred million each. I am a ranking senator, I didn’t get. Did I go to the press?” he asked rhetorically.

Jarigbe’s mic was muted shortly after while he was still speaking.
