Remo Stars have won their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title after a dramatic 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday, with three games to spare.

In front of a jubilant home crowd at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, it was Olamilekan Adedayo who rose to the occasion, scoring the decisive goal in the 84th minute.

The late winner sent the stadium into jubilation and secured a momentous victory for the Sky Blue Stars, ending a 15-year journey to the summit of Nigerian football.

The win makes it Remo’s 21st of the season, giving them 68 points, as they opened up 10-point gap ahead of Rivers United in second place.

The tittle win makes Remo Stars the first Southwest club to win the Nigerian topflight title since Julius Berger’s triumph in 1991.
